hp prime virtual emulator on windows 8.1
Is anyone running the 20210428 64 bit hp prime virtual emulator on windows 8.1?
I have tried installing it on top of the 2020 emulator and have tried a clean install. The emulator starts and then the dreaded close the program message box comes up. Any comments are welcome. Thanks. |

It looks like HP migrated to QT 6 or newer I their latest virtual emulator builds. https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-16...#pid147122 QT 6 no longer supports Windows 7 or Windows 8. "Both Windows 7 or 8. x version support will not be available for Qt 6. Microsoft discontinued the support for both Windows versions some time ago, and as a vendor, we can no longer maintain support for these windows versions in Qt 6." |

Ok. Thanks Steve.
I guess it is time to fire up the win10 tower I have waiting in the wings. I am running win 8.1 on this laptop which is much more convenient. Thanks also for the pointer to the thread. |

It's free, it's legal, Win10 works on almost literally every machine 8.1 runs on and it's easy to do? Also, the Win10 UX is a lot better (IMHO) than Win 8, but that's clearly just an opinion. --Bob Prosperi |

The laptop has a separate data partition so that is feasible. Thanks. |
