Old PC appearance in a 1977 movie
Hi all, who recognize from the attached pic, the machines appearing in a fragment of this 1977 movie?
Smile
Thank you very much.

The printer has the rounded shape of an early IBM Selectric. The extra bank of keys on the right make it look like like a modified IBM Selectric Composer. Composers were used for typesetting and had proportional fonts and variable pitch. They had additional keys and a dial to the right of the main keyboard.

My Collection: 55, 67T, 25PLP, 34C, 15C, 16C, 41CV, 41CX, 41-CL, DM41X, DM42, 42S, 48G, 71B, 75C, 95LX, HP-150, Portable+, HP-86, Integral PC.

Not sure if these will help, but a Google search found these closeups from that movie ("Telefon", 1977):

The three lights report the status of the cassette transport LEADER (red), DATA (yellow) and MOTION (green).

Termicette was a machine that used an RS-232 serial signal to write read/write data to cassettes. It was an alternative to the paper tape reader/punch on Teletype machines.

Looks like an ADDS Consul terminal, perhaps a model 880?
Here's the 880:

Here's a 580:

Here's a 960 or maybe a 980:

ADDS had a nice line in luggables too, the Envoy series, again with bright orange keycaps.

Thank-you very much,. so it's "just" a terminal, not a PC on its own

Why the large case surrounding the monitor. No wonder the desk needed a support.

2010: The Year We Make Contact movie had huge ones in the offices also.

cheers
