[OT] Canary Islands (La Palma) volcano.
Hi all,
As the subject says, this is completely off topic but considering current circumstances I think this is the best place to post. Admins may remove if decided otherwise. I've been receiving several e-mails along the last couple of days from members/friends showing their concerns about the situation here and the way it may affect myself. First, I sincerely appreciate these messages. Fortunately, the Canary Islands is a fairly extensive archipelago. Gran Canaria (the island I'm living in) is more than 300km. away from La Palma; where Cumbre Vieja volcano has erupted so I'm at no personal risk whatsoever. Regrettably, and although no one has been injured there, thousands of people have been evacuated and hundreds of homes have already been buried by the lava flows, not counting the losses on crops and infraestructures. With my wholehearted thanks. Diego. "Do not suppose, check it twice." |

RE: [OT] Canary Islands (La Palma) volcano.
First, Great, good to know you are safe Diego.
Second - wow, I knew the Canary Islands were a large and widely-separated chain of islands, but had no idea they were that far apart. Continued good health and stay the heck away from La Palma. And best wishes for those that have been evacuated! --Bob Prosperi |
