Sharp Wizard 64K stopped working
My Sharp Wizard 64K stopped working after 30 years. Unfortunately, phone numbers for all my business and personal contacts are on it.
The sequence was this. I got a message that I needed to replace the operating batteries. I did that, and it worked fine. Then I noticed that I had not screwed the back plate on securely, so I opened the back plate again. When I screwed the plate back on, the device did not work and I got a weird message about the memory. It didn't specifically say to replace the memory battery, but in desperation I did so. Still doesn't work--screen does not respond to the "on" button. Would be enormously grateful for any suggestions. |

RE: Sharp Wizard 64K stopped working
I am not familiar with your device.
Have you removed the screw to see if it works without it? I'm wondering if it might be grounding a signal or pushing two components together. 10B, 10BII, 10C, 11C, 12C, 14B, 15C, 16C, 17B, 18C, 19BII, 20b, 22, 25, 29C, 35, 38G, 39G, 39gs, 41CV, 48G, 97 |

Thanks Ren. Yes, I've removed the two screws but still nothing comes on the screen when it press "on." What did you mean about grounding a signal or pressing two parts together?

RE: Sharp Wizard 64K stopped working
Have you moved the "Battery Replacement Switch" back to the "Normal Operation" position?
EDIT -- Oops, sorry, wrong model. The 7200 requires a battery replacement procedure that is not obvious. Be sure to follow the steps in the manual, paying special attention to the required flipping of the Memory Backup Switch position, the Card Lock Switch, and the Reset switch poke. I'm pretty sure it's the same procedure as outlined in the 7000 manual, available here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/836583...189#manual <0|ΙΈ|0> -Joe- |
