Website hp41{dot}org camouflaged?
Hi

I wanted to include in a post a link to a website of hp41{dot}org. If writing it the normal way the hp41{dot}org was replaced by asteriks and it looked like this:
http://www.*****/LibView.cfm?Command=View&ItemID=210
Is this a bug or done by intention? And if so what is the reason?

Thank you

Raimund

RE: Website hp41{dot}org camouflaged?
Direct links to that site are blocked here, due to historical issues related to copying HP materials, so no it's not a bug, but it's also not a real problem.

To post such a link, I provide a link as follows:

http://www.ho41.org/LibView.cfm?Command=View&ItemID=210

and tell the reader to copy the link, paste it to the browser bar, change "ho" to "hp" and press Enter, and it will work.

So you can't actually include a functional link (which can be clicked to open that page) but you can provide an easy to copy/use link which is nearly as good, and a lot easier to write (than an explanation of how to navigate there) and follow by the reader.

Ups, it seems I opened a can of worms.
Perhaps the responsiple persons can check whether the reasons for blocking this website are still valid ;-)

Thank you very much for the information and best reards

Raimund
