HP Prime making high pitched noise
I have recently bought the HP Prime calculator and have noticed a faint high pitched noise coming from it, the noise can be heard from the middle part of the display. I would like to know if this is something I should be worried about or is this normal?[/size]

Maybe you just have really good hearing
It's possible that it's normal and most of us just can't hear it. If the backlight for the LCD is using an inverter it might generate frequencies or overtones in the audible range.

RE: HP Prime making high pitched noise
On the bright side, if you can change the refresh rate programatically, you might get it to play a tune.

RE: HP Prime making high pitched noise
Thank you for helping me, I have tried and the tone does change when I change the refresh rate.

RE: HP Prime making high pitched noise
Some components such as inductors and ceramic capacitors can produce acoustic noise, converting an electrical oscillation to mechanical oscillation like a mini speaker!
