Dead / red pixel, horrible flickering, even with updated OS (video)
I just purchased an HP Prime G2 and immediately noticed horrible flickering, both with the light and dark themes. To add insult to injury, one of the pixels turns red when it is supposed to be dark.
Add this to the frustration of trying to update the OS (first on MacOS... what a crashy mess), then on Windows. Different OS versions didn't fix the issue, so I'm headed back to return it. Even if you don't use dark mode, make sure you check it as I couldn't tell the red pixel was there until I did. Video link: https://youtu.be/fCNdC3T9kKE |

RE: Dead / red pixel, horrible flickering, even with updated OS (video)
Thank you for your post -- it gives me one more thing to check when
I get my replacement prime g2. I hope you get a replacement G2. The prime G2 and sites like hpmuseum.org and hpcalc.org provide great information. The hpmuseum.org prime forum give me the most appropriately helpfull advice I can find. I like the number of lines that the G2 can display versus the Graphing Casios can display. With only five months experience I have only discovered the tip of the iceberg of what the hp prime g2 can do. Later. |

I returned it, but the store only had TI calcs in stock, so I had to get a refund instead of exchange.
I saw the post about the cell phone app, so I purchased the Pro version of that for now. |

The flickering is due to the refresh rate being the same frequency as the lights in the room. You can fix it by holding [on] +[shift] then press [+] or [-]. The red pixel is definitely a defect though and returning is was a good idea because who knows what else could be wrong with the display.
