RE: my first program for hp48
It would be helpful if you would include in the thread more information what your program does. Even the downloaded files are not easy to read because of their format.

Doesn't work on my HP48GX. Just locks up and requires an ON-C warmstart ( fortunately no TTRM ).

Jonathan

You should test it an an actual 48G/GX as I've written some assembly language code that runs in EMU48 but not on the actual calculator.

As I've said, for me at least, on my 48GXs your code just locks up and requires an ON-C warmstart.

Jonathan

Eh? Smile Don't quite understand your question. What link? If you mean the code that runs in the emulator but not on the actual calc one example would be my COMA mode code for the 49G ( Yorke based ). The 48 version is here -- I don't know where the 49 version is; it's been years since I've touched it. The only real differences between the 48 and 49 versions are the addresses of the unsupported entry points.

Jonathan

There is nothing wrong with my HP48GXs. I've tested your program on two different calculators with the same results : it locks up requiring an ON-C warmstart.

Have you tested it on your actual 48G/GX?

Jonathan

Not answering about your results on a real 48GX was the hint... And it's not bad at all, it just helps to understand the problem, and give you the assistance you want, if your usage and platform are clear. Of course there should be no difference between eum48 and a real device, and that may not even be the case here, but it can make a difference, so eliminating unknowns/differences helps to isolate the true problem.

Why all sorts of offensive hints that run counter to the declared rules?

RE: my first program for hp48
You're misunderstanding; there is no offense here, at least none intended. I was trying to clarify why you were having different results from Jonathan's results. Since this is a calculator forum, most members assume other members are posting about the actual devices; in some cases, emulators produce different results than those real devices. And when there are differences between them, most folks presume the device is correct, since that is the reference which the emulator is striving to copy.

So, sorry if you took offense, none was intended.
