Repair on Hp 45c
I am a surveyor who has been using Hp 45c's for 40 years to add degrees, minutes , and seconds and to convert degrees , minutes and seconds to decimal degrees in order to take the sin of the angles. i have developed some hot keys with ASN function. My Calculator has gone down, i bought another on ebay and it will not work. I need someone to repair one or both or take parts from both and make one. Can someone direct me to someone who could do this for me. I am new to this forum so you could email me at jima@andersonlandsurveyors.com. thanks! Jim

RE: Repair on Hp 45c
HP-25 possible, HP-41 also likely (ASN, R2P, P2R). LED or alphanumeric display? Can't think of anyone off hand who'd take a general repair job on either of these without more information.
HP-41 Quick check: With batteries installed, does pressing down on bottom corners or with both thumbs below either side of the bottom of the display help? Might be broken posts if the two halves of the case seem a bit loose. I'm assuming of course you have no leaking battery damage to battery contacts. Remember kids, "In a democracy, you get the government you deserve." |

RE: Repair on Hp 45c
As far as I know, there is no ASN function on a 25C, so it must be one of the HP-41 family.

RE: Repair on Hp 45c
If you can’t find someone to repair it, take a look at the following video. It may help.

RE: Repair on Hp 45c
Sorry for the confusion about the model. It is an HP 41C and I have an HP 41 CV. I am not much with electronics , so would rather pay someone who can work on them. I have seen this video before, but have not the time to try what looks to be a simple repair. I had a man in Florida who worked on them for me for years but he told us he was not doing repairs any longer. If anyone knows someone who may work on them please let me know. I have an HP 50g and I have the HP 41 app on my phone but the app will not let me assign the shirt cuts to designated keys. I have not found a way to assign the conversion of degrees minutes seconds to decimal degrees and vice versa not the add degrees minutes and seconds to a key with the HP 50 g and the keyboard is really stiff. Missing my shortcuts daily.

Would the Swiss Micros version of the HP41 work in your application?
