Android app questions: force portrait mode and skins

I was hoping someone might help with two questions.

First, is their any way to force the app to be in portrait orientation when the device is in landscape? On a tablet, if you run side-by-side or in a floating window it stays in landscape mode. Resizing just makes a tiny landscape version with blank space above and below.

Second, in the comments under a video about the Android app, someone said they use a skin. I see how this can be done in Windows, but haven't found a way in Android. My phone and tablet are both Android 14, if that makes a difference. Access to some file areas are more restricted than in older versions.
