MBM2764 & 27C64 eproms - Same?
I'm new to eproms, and I have a need to burn a eprom that is calling for a 27c64. I have MBM2764's on hand now. Are they pretty much the same thing?

I just need to burn a Commodore floppy disk diagnostic cartridge BIN to a eprom for a cartridge I need to build. I already have a eprom burner that I've tested with before.

Thank you!

Joe

RE: MBM2764 & 27C64 eproms - Same?
Logically they are the same, have the same pinout, but they are from different logic families. The MBM2764 is a NMOS part while a 27C64 is a CMOS part. The big difference it the NMOS part will draw several times the current the CMOS part, but we are not talking about big load the CMOS part is in the range of 20 to 25mA when operating where as the NMOS part is abut 150mA.

Paul.

I think I'll stay with the 27C64, just to be safe.

Thank you!
