Import Free42 state file in Plus42?

Today I purchased the Plus42 app, to use on my iPhone (iOS 17.1.1).

However, I can't see how to import an exported Free42 state into Plus42. Renaming the extension to *.p42 and opening the file with Plus42 on iOS results in an "Import failed" message. When I try the same with Plus42 on Windows, I get a "State file corrupt" message.

I don't want to rebuild my calculator state from scratch, if I can prevent it; so is there a way to convert / import Free42 state files (or SM DM42 state files) into Plus42?

Here is one way for IOS:
1. In the Free42 app, touch the display to bring up the Main menu.
2. Choose Program Import & Export.
3. Choose Share Programs.
4. Select one or more programs that you wish to import into Plus42. Touch OK.
5. In the second row, slide to the right and choose "More".
6. Scroll down and choose Plus42.
7. Plus42 will open and show the message "1 raw file imported". Touch OK.

The Free42 programs you had chosen for Export in Free42 are now present in Plus42.

Thanks for the detailed steps!

But that doesn't include the custom menu setup I created, and I would like to keep my settings synchronized between my DM42 and Plus42 (like I do between my DM42 and Free42).

Is there a way to do that? Otherwise, as much as I like supporting Thomas Okkens' work (so no regrets buying the app), I am not sure if the larger display of Plus42 outweighs the lack of synchronization with my DM42.

Plus42 cannot read Free42 state files.
While Plus42 started out as a Free42 fork, the changes I had to make to the internals to support equations and directories were so extensive that backward compatibility of state files became impractical to maintain.
