He's in Eugene, Oregon -- which is about as close as you will get to Seattle for this type of specialty. You might also consider looking on eBay. The HP 48GX frequently sells for a Buy It Now price around US$150. If your father would consider a similar model, the HP 50G can be purchased from Amazon for under US$80, features an improved display and faster processor (for most situations). Note: I am not affiliated with any of these sellers. I trade on eBay under the User Id of "LED". Ceci n'est pas une signature. |

All you need to do is open up the calculator halves, remove the PCB and reinforce the contact between it and the keyboard. Contact me via direct contact if you would like me to quote repairing it. |

Here is an exact list: Test for 128 Ram - okay Test from left to right buttons: all okay, give the test beep, except for-- #29 (arrow left) #34 (division) #39 (multiplication) #44 (subtraction) #49 (addition) these buttons do not give the test beep and do not compute. Thanks. |

Sometimes he runs a test and they work fine, then they stop working. I am coming from Vancouver, B.C. trying to find someone in the Seattle area to repair it. Do you have any contacts that might know on a good repair shop there? Thanks. |

The best tool I have found to separate the halves has been a well rounded, wide spade. Believe it or not, a nail clipper has worked for dozens of these repairs for me.
