Interesting article: Experimental Math and HP-65
Chazottes and Monticelli published the interesting article "Computer Experiments and Visualization in Mathematics and Physics: A Subjective Short Walk Among Some Historical Examples" in the "Mathematical Intelligencer", pages 320-334. (https://link.springer.com/article/10.100...23-10313-2)
They mention among other examples two uses of a HP-65: Work by Michel Henon on the Henon attractor (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hénon_map) and Mitchell Feigenbaum's work on the universality of chaos (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feigenbaum_constants). |

While the link in your post appears to require a journal subscription to download the full text pdf, it’s fortunate that one of the authors submitted a preprint to arXiv (operated by Cornell University) in early 2022. While arXiv preprints can differ in detail from final published articles, frequently the differences are only editorial corrections and therefore can still be more informative than just reading an article abstract. |
