Correct o-ring size for HP-65 and HP-67 card readers
Hello Everyone
first of all sorry for not contributing since a long time, but we have been busy on too many things ... The quality of the contents have been constantly growing so thanks for keeping alive this wonderful group ! Also, let me amend in advance because I'm pretty sure it has been asked and answered before, I have however done some research but couldn't find anything, so here I'm asking ... What's the best size ID/OD of the o-rings when fixing a gummy card reader ? Thank you very much in advance ! Take care everyone !! Edoardo & Alberto |

Hi Alberto,
Welcome back, great to hear from you again. Searching the articles you can find an article on the HP-82104A O-ring size. https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap...gi?read=57 Searching the net for "o-ring s006" will give (for me in Germany at least) https://www.lesker.com/flanges/silicone-...art/o-s006 where you find the exact measuring including mm and inches. Buy from the seller of your confidence :-). Andi |

RE: Correct o-ring size for HP-65 and HP-67 card readers
for a possible US based alternative, last year I repaired the card reader in my 41, after reading many of the articles in the forum I went with the flexible tubing approach instead of the o-rings, and it worked well for me, granted, a lot of more experienced people here prefer the o-rings, but the clincher for me was the availability of the right size tubing.
I got it from McMaster-Carr, link to the item in question below https://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/130/161/9627T13 |

Thank you very much for your reply, may I ask you why not using the 9627T14 ? It looks more close to the o-ring specs Let me know and thank agains ! Edoardo & Alberto |

I vaguely remember that somebody in the forum gave the dimensions of tubing they had used and I based my choice on that, it worked for me so I did not question it. If I had noticed at the time I would probably have ordered both! One thing to note is that the tubing fits snuggly on the motor axis, and the ID of the o-ring is smaller, so it probably stretches more and the resulting OD is about the same (I am guessing wildly here).
