Hello,
I got an HP-41CY TURBO from W&W in the hand. Where could I find some material for setup? I could not find any topic in the forum. I am still searching: any hint where to further search is welcome.

Hi floppy,
there is some documentation on HP41.XXX, it is not allowed to past the url here :-)
And look for the w&W rambox doks, the CY is a HP41 with built in rambox and speedup.
Is the battery ok? it not there are several ways to recover the os.

Glad to hear it worked for other people. I still remember some sleepless nights until I got the right idea how to implement it. ;-)

A person in this forum proposed to me a "HP41 CY revival session" meeting the next weeks in South-Germany.

However, in order to be prepared or to have already make some progress prior this meeting ..
a) where is Jürgen ROM?
b) how to proceed with the Clonix module? (programming, setup, in which port of the HP41, key sequence prior power on..?)
c) what battery and how to change it on an HP41CY ?

I have successfully revived 41CY and RAMBox devices with Jürgen's initialization ROM loaded on a Clonix module.

The Addendum is something I had not seen but it confirms the existence of the 41-CW, a device I had looked for a while back but never seen. Has anyone here seen a 41-CW, maybe has pictures?

Same for me, never seen it, except maybe when I was at Matthias home several years ago, I do not remember, ask him, he has a lot of W&W products in his collection. ... or maybe Jürgen ?

This is a misleading comment, the card reader uses XROM 30 while the RB32/RB64/CW/CY uses XROM 31.

A guy I don't know named Araguaia Ateneu has posted a photo in a FB HP Group of part of his HP collection, which includes, if this can be believed, 3 x HP-41CW units, which he says he acquired more than 10 years ago. I'd post the photo here, but it's not a good photo, taken from 6+ feet away, and all 41 models look the same, there are no discernible details on them. He at least knows what they are; when asked what a 41CW is, he pointed to this doc at Eric's site:

b) Look at the documentation on Github. If you think it needs some clarification, let me know and I will try to improve it.
c) Not sure if I understand your question right. The 41CY has an internal backup battery. So you can change the battery pack without losing data, and there is no hurry.

Regarding the "41CY revival session" in South Germany: as I live at the (Swiss part of) the Lake of Constance, I might be interested to join. Where exactly will it happen? You can also send me a PM.

I never saw a 41CW in real, unfortunately.
It's even not clear to me what the exact differences are between the 41CY and 41CW. Some say the 41CW has a 32K RAMBOX only, and the Addendum and price list above say, both have a 64K RAMBOX. If the 41CW is really a 41CV with 64K RAMBOX (and probably the Turbo-Mode, too) then it does not look very interesting. It would also explain why it is so rare, because I don't think there was much demand for such a variant.

You are right. The CW and CY addendum says both have 64k memory built-in.
And on the last page you find that with the CW you can use the Time module.
In consequence the CW is - as Sylvain wrote - CV with 64k RAMBOX built in.
Makes also sense from the naming side:
CX —> CY
CV —> CW

Good observation regarding the naming!

Makes also sense from the pricing side: 1499 vs 1378 DM. That was probably (more or less) the difference between a CX and a CV. If the CW would only provide a 32K RAMBOX, it would be difficult to justify that price. I think the reason why CWs are so rare is that the CY provided better value for the money.
