HP 50g how to disable simplification by LN?

I'm doing some discrete signals and systems analysis, and working with this calculator, and it's CAS is amazing. I've stumbled upon some bugs, but I've found a way around them.
I'm sure that this is not a bug, but it's a bit annoying the way it does symbolic operations with powers of variables. Take a look at this picture:
   
Is there any way that instead, it's shown like this?:

Hi, you can use the EXPAND command (Right Shift 4 ).

EXPAND : Expands and simplifies an algebraic expression.
