How to permanently delete app?
I downloaded a sample app for the Prime, copied it to the Prime, had a play, then deleted it. It’s apparently gone. However, if I reboot the Prime with ON+SYMB as I occasionally have to do because it sometimes hangs when the connectivity kit disconnects, the wretched app reappears again! Delete it - it’s gone. Restart and it’s back. Why on Earth is it reappearing (and where is it reappearing from!) and how do I permanently get rid of it?
Thanks, Chris |

RE: How to permanently delete app?
Hmmm. Doing a search I see that this issue has been ongoing for at least 5 years on the Prime G2. Never mind - I can live with it. The apps that reappear are “ghosts” with no content. Seems to be a low-level file system bug.

RE: How to permanently delete app?
Workaround: To remove Ghost Apps, delete the application and, without turning off the device, go to Mem (Shift + Toolbox) and create a backup (Backups => New => OK) and then immediately restore it.
P.S. Since this procedure works, there should theoretically be a way to achieve this without creating and restoring a backup. However, it might require some low-level operations. Piotr Kowalewski |
