And you were right. I come from Moravia. Moravia is a region in Czechia. Many local companies and products are named Moravia. Coincidentally, right now I’m drinking milk Moravia.

Your link leads to information that is completely new to me: The Latinised name of the Scottish county of Moray is 'Moravia'.

Is anybody here from Moray? If yes then hello, fellow Moravian! :-)

Interesting. The "marais" word in french ("swamp" in english) then could have a celtic origin.

Not necessarily Celtic, a Latin origin is possible too. But both those ways have a common origin :-)

Moravia the region got its name from Moravia the river. Citing Wikipedia which cites some history book: The root of the river's name, mor-, is derived from the Proto-Indo-European word for 'water', 'marsh', from which the Latin word mare arose.

So it would seem the latter name does indeed have a basis
