Spotted HP-16C in its natural habitat.
I came across this video today. Think it may be interesting for you too.

Our beloved HP-16C appeares in the 25:17 time stamp.

The whole project is fascinating.

What an interesting video. Thanks for sharing!
It's definitely great to see an HP16C being used in the same way it would've been used back in its day.

I had seen some of their previous tinkering with the Apollo gear, but it's been a while since the last time I checked them. Thanks for bringing this back to my attention : )

Been following Curious Marc for a couple of years. Excellent ind depth analysis of the Apollo systems including the DSKY. Nice to see the HP 16C in action!

Got me interested in the DSKY also! Technically the first portable computer!

Here is my DSKY emulator with the same audio synched to the display which indicates time since insertion to landing, descent rate and altitude (both descent rate and altitude are with one decimal point (not indicated on the DSKY by design)) and the time is in seconds. The simulation includes the 1201 and 1202 alarm codes.

DSKY

HP 41C/CX/CL at work. The rest for playtime!

CuriousMarc and his associates are quite famous for repairing an Apollo Guidance Computer and actually flying missions on it. Their repaired AGC sold for 750000$.

emefff.

I've been using mine for my EE classes. It was really helpful in Digital Design Fundamentals. :-)

Sadly, I didn't have the money and bought a TI Programmer instead.

All the TIs I had (55, 57, Programmer, probably some others I have blocked out) died early deaths due to the dreadful build quality. My HP 67 was still fine last time I used it, long after the TIs went to that great electronic junkyard in the sky.

I still use a DM 16L fairly often for my job, and if I find a 16C in good condition priced fairly one day, I'll buy it.

I don't think TIs go to that "Great Junkyard in the Sky".
I think they go much lower!
