HP15C CE, selfbound AFH

Some 20-odd years ago I bought a manual wire book binding machine.
I probably have more than enough wire spines to cover my life and whoever inherit me after I've "logged off" from Earth..
Now, to the topic; I printed out and wirebound the HP15C CE Advanced Functions Handbook.
I'm quite satisfied with the result. On the left is the original copy paper printout of the .pdf. The right, and the book itself, is front and back printed on "Everyday Glossy Photo Paper" from Canon, and the rest is copy paper print. 57 A4 sheets, making 114 A5 sheets, totalling 228 pages.
The max of my wire binder is 14mm wire, taking 120 sheets. As the "Glossy Photo Paper" is abt 3 times as thick as copy paper (80gsm), the total maxed out my binding machine. It's interesting to see that the "draft print" on copy paper is so much more pale/gray than the very deep black on the photo paper.

I'm so jealous. Great job!

The 15C CE manual is bound in such a way as to require both hands, and is therefore unusable, in my opinion. So I resort to having my ipad laying on the table and I view the pdf while learning the calculator.

20 years ago, how much did you pay for such a book binding setup?

I'm just glad to still have my original spiral-bound 15C/16C manuals and AFH. Plus the PDF's of course.

They're surprisingly cheap, (in my opinion). I paid some ~100 US$ for it in Norway at the time. You can easily obtain them from Amazon or other places for $150 and up. (Search for wire binder).
Wire spines are sold in various sizes from 6mm to 20mm or so by boxes of 100, costing ~20'ish $ a box.
I don't have a "guilliotine", so my paper cutter can only take 5-6 sheets at a time. This'll be the most time consuming of binding a book.

When it comes to printer, I have an Epson EcoTank printer with photo paper capabilities. They're more on the expensive side, but actual printouts are cheap as ink is bought by the bottle instead of cartridges.

Not calculating the cost of "labour" (paper cutting and book binding time) or hardware, I guess my book cost me around $5 in consumables (ink, paper and wire spine).
