How to tell if my quad mem is working
I've done some searching and I think I've mostly just confused myself, so I thought I'd ask, but I think this probably a quick answer kinda thing.
I bought from ebay a quad memory module for my hp-41cv (also an ebay purchase from a long time ago) and I have the X Functions installed and I take the batteries out and install the quad memory and then I power back up and execute emdir and I get 124 when I thought it would be more. Also if I take the quad mem out it also reads 124 when I do EMDIR. I've read this thread from the archive: https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap...read=54029 and I'm not sure I'm reading it wrong and this config is not supported, or the quad memory is bad. My config is XFunctions in slot 1 and a single quad mem module which I have tried in all 3 other slots. emdir always returns 124. Thank you and apologies if there was a simple way to figure this out from the documentation. JR |

RE: How to tell if my quad mem is working
Hi,
Quad memory is useful in a HP-41C only and expands the direct addressable memory to 319 registers your CV already has. The X-functions module contains 124 registers. To expand X-memory you would need a X-memory module - 2 are supported to expand to 600 registers shown in EMDIR if X-memory is empty. Basic requirement is a X-function module in HP-41C and HP-41CV and built-in in the HP-41CX resp. Andi |

RE: How to tell if my quad mem is working
Thank you! Yeah I thought that might be the case and I just misread it before I bought it.
Oh well I'm not gonna send it back it'll be good for swapping maybe. JR |
