RE: DM 15L two line display
See reply to previous post about DM15L w/2 line display.
The DM41L does not have a 2-line display and will not have that. --Bob Prosperi |

Can the keycodes be removed and replaced only by opcodes?

As far as I know the only person to know anything about the DM15L two-line firmware update is Bob Prosperi. Mentioned at the end of this HHC 2024 video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADUmQ5LX8gU and in a few posts here. From what I know he's the only one with a beta version of the firmware. To my knowledge SwissMicros has said nothing. Nor have I found anything on the SwissMicros forums. So until someone gets the release firmware and/or documentation your question cannot be answered. RE: DM 15L two line display
The REAL secret of the new DM51L would be (said with tongue and cheek) that is supports neural networks deep learning, triggered by a combination of certain three keys. Perhaps it would empower the DML51L with an internet connection to special cloud server! That would give the HP-15 CE a run for its money!!
At least our calculator community would be in par with the rest of the world (if my halucination was true)! I don't know what my wife spiked my diet coke with!!! :-) Namir |

We do have this computing technology today (cell phones, or more correctly a computing device, which is also capable of doing phone calls). Though they missed with the memory capacity.. 1GB was surpassed like 10 years ago. My cellphone has 12GB RAM and 256GB non-volative memory. What I would like from the story, is the rocketliner. Imagine circumnavigating the equator in just 5 hours.. The flights I do (work related) from Europe/Riga to Ushuaia/Argentina could have been done in 4-5 hours incl plane changes at bigger hubs, rather than close to 30 hours as it is now. Please don't yell at me, because I have not done any homework regarding the question I'm about to ask, but does the DM15C (credit card sized) calculator get a two row LCD option?

RE: DM 15L two line display
I was hoping to get a video in sunlight, but it being the Winter Solstice, and also that I struggled on linux to use the firmware updater. In the end I used my wife's Window machine as the device didn't seem to be registering on my ubuntu-mate 24.04 device.
Anyway, here is a quick video of it running. It is very brief. https://youtube.com/shorts/Xsmwhayyfjg?s...o4j2UUQkDf |

RE: DM 15L two line display
The conversions/constants was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise!
It's a very nifty little UI to it. Press g-on to enter the constant/conversions. The x<>y switches between the two sets. Almost every key apart from on/f/g/x<>y/<-/ENTER is a constant/conversion. f and g then allow you to select which way the conversion goes, or a double press of either f or g will allow you to push the constant/conversion onto the stack. ENTER then does your command. Very Neat! |
