HP41 Calculator Name Plates

HP41 Calculator Name Plates
I have pulled out a few old 41s tywo CXs and one CV. The CV is fine but the name plates on the CX has somehow been covered with what looks like some kind of coating or corrosion with age. Any ideas on how to restore or replace?
