Trivia can be important
Recently Joe Horn raised an interesting question, wanting to find the answer on the Prime:
http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-3212.html I thought I'd give it a try on the Prime itself. Taken out of the drawer I saw the keypad again, covered with various orange & light blue smudges. I removed my glasses, & at abut 2 cm distance (I'm pretty myopic) I could make out the meaning of the hieroglyphs. I abandoned the attempt to use the calculator. While improving the software is definitely a difficult intellectual task, surely changing the colours & fineness of inscriptions on the keyboard is - trivial? Or is there some unseen handicap, eg some Chinese group holding the intellectual rights to the colour of ink applied to the keyboard. The prime lies in my drawer again. |

You need to pass the Marketeers.

RE: Trivia can be important
I recently planned to get rid of the advocatus diaboli image I fear I got by complaining and begging for features too much - but consider the primarily targeted market: a 16 year old might have well functioning eyes plus he uses the calculator in a highly illuminated classroom, so the keys are not much of an issue....
There are several small drawbacks that keep myself from using the prime for daily work, but I keep on trying to get used to the prime. So far as a hobby. Given that some users on this forum are able to provide excellent information I hope that I will at least get along with it. There is so much potential! Hopefully my problems with merging cas mode with hp39 sources and the built in variables are no result of intellectual problems arising from not beeing the targeted 16 year old but a 40 year old donkey We will see. |

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the WP 34S.
Strange that those amateurs could produce a colour scheme that even my eyes find reasonable/readable. The Prime forces me to describe it's designers as parblind. |

RE: Trivia can be important
Nothing that a printed adhesive overlay and key labels (as was done for the WP 34S) could't fix

Great link:
http://lnk.nu/qedbqa.by3301.livefilestor...ys3.JPG%20 I'm clearly not the 1st to complain - why do we all keep it so secret on this forum? Maybe we should allow HP access to the site? |
