Me too, just out of curiosity. Smile

How do I transfer software to the app on my Surface 3 Pro (Win 10 Pro)? As already mentioned in this thread, the connectivity kit does not see the app.

The keyboard mapping on my German keyboard is irritating at best. It looks like a crude mixture of the German (quertz) alpha layout and the US layout for all the punctuation and special characters. I can't imagine that this is intentional. The old desktop app works fine with my keyboard mapping. (Edit: This is NOT dependent on the language setting within the app!)

One more remark: The screen image seems a bit blurred compared to the original virtual calculator. Obviously there is some anti aliasing. The image is being scaled when the window size changes which explains my observations.

I found it. There is an HP_Prime folder burrowed deeply in the Users/<my name> folder. It has the same structure as the respective folder of the classic virtual calculator. Just copy your files there and restart the application. I happened to install the app on two devices. The calculator has been synchronized between the two when I installed on the second (a virtual machine). I have yet to test if modifications to the HP-Prime folder are automatically synchronized back to my other device (a Surface Pro 3).

The HP Prime simulator found at this site you have cited still be free... The paid app HP Prime is designed for tablets and smartphones running Windows.
If you could not have money for buying the Windows Store app, stick with the desktop simulator on PC, which is free.

I've tried downloading the Virtual Prime from this ftp site several times yesterday and today. It gets to the end of the download and then fails with a "network error". (This has happened on two different wireless networks - my computer is running Windows 10.) Is there a problem with the site?

Hi Nigel,

I had also problems downloading from the ftp site with my Windows 10 machine using Firefox.
It was successful with internet explorer.

Thank you! I was using Chrome, not Firefox but I tried your suggestion and Internet Explorer worked first time.

I've recently acquired a Surface RT (ARM). The app - which I bought for my Surface Pro 3 - is listed as "not available" under "my apps". It's obviously not compiled for ARM. :-(

Surface RT was completely botched, now dead and buried... unfortunately for those who bought them.

I know... But that made mine extremely cheap (€ 170).

Since Windows Phone should essentially be the same as RT (both on ARM) I still have hopes.

RE: HP Prime APP Windows Store
Well, while Windows Phone is indeed not yet dead and buried, it's consistently been a dwarf on the market for years, and the prospects for WP reaching a significant market share are nonexistent...
The uphill battle against the Android and iPhone elephants is just too hard to fight, even for such a large company as Microsoft, under its much saner new management and organization.

HP Prime app copy and paste problems
Does anyone know how to copy and paste a program onto the HP Prime app running on a android device. I have just downloaded the HP Prime app to my android device and came to a realisation. There doesn't appear to be a way to copy and paste large programs from within my android device nor does there appear to be a way to copy from my computer to my android HP prime app. I should also note that the HP connectivity kit doesn't seem to help either.

Hi Tim, can't find it in the WinPhone app store. Under what name is it available?

Hello,

Sorry for any confusion that post of mine may have caused. It is not available on ARM systems at this time. This was one I compiled and put on there myself as a basic test of my ability to do the compilation locally. Other then playing with it a few minutes, I'm not certain how it would past our testing/validation processes.

Basically, when I posted that I was under the impression it was going to be available on any win8.1 system. I am not certain exactly why it was not brought out for that platform as I was not really involved with this work. I'll pass on your interest though!

RE: HP Prime APP Windows Store - replaced by Virtual Calc?
After today's update of the HP Prime Pro APP in the Windows Store, this was replaced by HP Prime Virtual Calculator under Windows without info or notes!

I hope that at least the portrait and landscape format for tablets under Android is adapted analogously to the old Windows APP, so that in landscape mode the calculator is displayed in portrait mode to save space (display above the keyboard and not to the left of it). An option like in the former Windows APP would also be a nice option.

Greetings,
Tschumi
