11C emblem
My 11C has long been missing the logo emblem in the upper right corner. Had some spare time on the CNC mill so programmed and engraved one in some .03 thick aluminum sheet. Just need to trim it out and glue it on. Kind of a silly use of time but it's still my favorite calculator.

RE: 11C emblem
Hi Kevinb,

I have the same problem with my trusty old HP-11C. Is it possible to make a deal?

Regards,
Bon

I think we could. Let me get it finished up and attached to see the final product will look like.

Great job!
Why not going further and print it for the 10C and 15C as well?

Then you may contact Dave and add it to Shapeways hp parts site.

I'd need .TIF images of the 10C and 15C logos so I can "copy" the style of the 0 and 5 characters. If folks can provide that then I can make a very accurate reproduction.

In 2011 there was a different approach to the same problem, discussed in the old forum: http://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwrap/...ead=186949

RE: 11C emblem
Yes, I'm sure there are many of the Voyagers that have missing emblems. Neat to see a casting approach. Good to know that I,m not the only person to have invested way more time and energy than really can be justified in creating a replacement.

I may be able to use the "5" image of the cast replacement to program a 15C emblem. Can anyone verify the cast replacement a close replica of the original?

On the original 11C badge logo, the serifs at the top of the ones are thinner (maybe 50-66%) than the weight of the one vertical stroke. Also, these serifs (no idea if this is correct term) come down at a noticeable angle such that the top left corner of the character cell is definitely silver, not black. Hope that makes sense.

Please let us know when you have pricing/availability info.

Thanks for the feedback on the shape. I believe I can make the "serif" on the one a little narrower though I am somewhat limited in what can be machined versus molded or stamped as the originals were made

RE: 11C emblem
See attached scan of my original (but fairly beaten up) 11c. There you can see that angle nicely.

RE: 11C emblem
Here is a 2D of the model that I programmed to. The loss of detail in the machined copy is mostly a tooling issue IMO.

Also the finished emblem. Didn't help the calculator work any better, but I like the improved appearance on an otherwise well used tool.

I have made a few extra. PM if interested.

My 15C lacks its badge...

Just in case you want to extend your offering.
