Thrift Store 15C
A buddy at work found a 15C at a thrift store and asked me what it was worth. It has a dent in the bezel so I quoted him the latest eBay price for a 15C in that condition and what it would be worth without the dent.

Then he told me the price - 50 cents ( 0.5 USD ). Then he gave it to me. Smile

Does anyone have a Voyager bezel or frame available to restore the calculator?

TIA, Dave

Damn, nice find. I wonder if it goes along with the 15C Advanced Functions Handbook I found in a local thrift a couple years ago. (No calculator - believe me, I tore that place apart looking for it.)

Congratulations!

As for the frame, I think an old/broken 12C's frame will fit in just fine, they can be found on auction sites quite easily and ain't expensive.

RE: Thrift Store 15C
I'd put the 50 cent price tag on the dent, and give it away as a very special door prize at the next conference.

That option has been suggested. What do you think of a 15C with a gold tinted bezel from a 12C? Would that be a RARE 15C, Golden Edition? Smile

Oh, that'd be superb. Also, if you are interested, you'll find in these very forums (maybe in the old forums too) detailed and clear instructions on how to speed up the 15C. I don't remember how much faster it can get, maybe 2x? Worth a try as you'll have to open the machine to replace parts anyway.

Edit: You could start HERE.

Looking forward to seeing your 15C on roids.

No need to open the machine to replace the bezel.

Hey, I'm not the one that brought it up! But since Geoff did, I had to ask.

:-)

One of the reasons for no Vancouver this year other then a whole slew of family problems (no worries, just became very busy with elderly parents) was to complete the book.

To that end I just published on DATAFILE an excerpt from chapter one. So at the moment in the editing phase, simplifying the text and etc. Extra photos where needed. I am hoping to present at HHC2016.

So there!

Cheers, Geoff

About pricing I would suggest $71 for copy #71, $41 for copy #41, $34 for copy #34 and so on. Since no one has asked for it yet, I'd be pleased with copy #15 :-)
