RE: DM42 News
My DM42 case was "too tight" new, but fits well now. I kept working the calculator into the case and it stretched after a while. If still too tight after a reasonable period, you might try turning it inside out and taking a safety razor to the seam edges if there is enough material.

Ah, Salvo...you are fortunate indeed. I am still waiting in the middle of the U.S. (Indiana). Perhaps tomorrow. Order acknowledged by SwissMicros at 12:05am(CET), on Feb. 1, 2018. The U.S. Postal Service is famous for it's excruciatingly slow delivery. I am being patient....almost.

I purchased mine at approximately 11 pm January 31st and it arrived in Colorado USA today. I'm very impressed with the display and quality of the calculator. I found the DM42 User Manual online as a web document, is it available in PDF format?

hi Jim, fortunate this time, yes. But first to receive it, I received an important letter from US after only ...a month :-D
So few time, ah ah.

From Switzerland the postal service was so quick, not the same in Italy and generally in Europe: 3-5 days to deliver in Sicily...

I got the hpmuseum document set in Berlin after 1 month and 10 days. Due to customs being suspicious of the USB key. So be hopeful!

I got it in 34 days, I think for the same reason: "explosive" documents Smile

Nope. Custom officers just take their time. My USB-device was 35 days on it's way.

Yes, it is particularly bad right now. It takes forever. And the limit for import duty free goods is ridiculously low at 22 Euros. So everything needs to be checked...

RE: DM42 News
The bottom edge of the USB connector on my DM42 seems to be partially obstructed by the case. Has anyone else noticed this? If I look at the seam along the side of the calculator, there is a very small gap along the whole length that becomes closed as it nears the top of the calculator. So maybe the screws are too tight?

Thanks for the pointer to that discussion which leads to a posting on the DM42 forum, however that is not the issue I have. I loosened the two screws on the back and the USB connector can now fit. I assume they would have to be removed to change the batteries.

With the screws slightly loosened the gap goes all the way around the case and matches the images of the DM42 on Swiss Micros website.

RE: DM42 News
DM42 arrived today (2018Feb09). It exceeded my expectations! Nice machined case, solid feel and responsive, tactile keys. The left side of the ENTER key doesn't have the tactile response as the right side, but it does ENTER a value when pressed. Has this been reported by others? The display is crystal clear and beautiful. Using a magnifier, I did notice a small piece of dust between the display and the front glass. Without the magnification, I don't notice the dust. Regarding Craig Bladow's comments about the micro USB connector. I was able to mate a micro USB cable connector into the DM42 connector and I saw the USB symbol at the top of the display. But I can see that the machined USB opening in the case could cause some misalignment issues. I played with the screws a bit, but my micro USB connector appears to be ok with the screws tightened completely. There is a slight gap on the mating halves of the DM42 on the left side, no gap on the top and no gap on the right side. The gap is cosmetic and doesn't appear to affect function. So far, my impressions are that this is an awesome machine! I love the whimsical graphics that the DM42 scrolls through with each power cycle. Delivery time from Switzerland to Indianapolis, IN was nine days from date of order, counting the weekend. Nice job Michael and a great accomplishment.

9 days, eh? Well hopefully that means mine will arrive here in Greenfield, Indiana, just a few minutes east of you, on Monday. Fingers crossed.
