What's wrong with the ML-02 program? Since it does not occupy any RAM all memory is available for storing the matrix and even a TI-58 can handle a 6th order equation system. On a physical TI-59 (!) even the optimized 640 step version would leave merely 40 registers.

Take a look at the already mentioned Master Library Survival Guide. There are lots of other programs you can try. OK, except ML-02 and 19. ;-)

The AND vs. OR for program steps vs. storage registers is probably why I was confused about memory sizes. That and 40 years.

I was kidding about the 'shoddy' ROM routine. While there clearly was room for optimization, I'd guess that studying the ROM code will be easier, as although less optimized, it's probably more straightforward. I am always confused trying to follow Algebraic programs; after 40 years of RPN, my brain just doesn't work that way. I am always wondering where intermediate results are left, etc.

I have the Master Survival Guide, plus ROM manuals (and ROMs) for the Master Library and Math/Utilities ROM manual (and ROM) so lots of examples to choose from.
