RE: NQ41 RPN Calculator
That sounds great, and understand 100% about need for better math library. Have you considered going with the same quad-precision Intel math library that SwissMicros used to great effect with DM42? It's pretty impressively capable, and relatively hardware-inclusive w.r.t. platforms.

In any case, really looking forward to playing with CC41! Any vague notion of availability yet?

The decNumber library does support a 128-bit decimal format, decimal128. The decNumber decimal64 nicely fits within my current data storage structure and enables an ability to choose binary 64 bit or decimal 64 bit math functions at compile time.

Thank you for your kind comments. Part of the fun of writing CC41 is the journey, and a part of what makes the journey fun is there is no deadline. Smile That said, it would be nice to have an update released by HHC 2022 in September but there is no guarantee.

Try CC41!

RE: NQ41 RPN Calculator
One thing I don't understand is if there's a difference between nq41 and cc41, or if there was simply a name change? Also, is the 0.20 version linked in the first post, from the end of 2018, really the latest available or where do I go to get the latest?

I'd like to help out testing as I firmly believe a text mode program, intended for efficient use from a standard keyboard, to be the one kind of program that makes sense for a calculator when I'm at my computer.

NQ41 became CC41 as many HP41CX functions, programmability and support for alpha data was added.

That's the latest NQ41. There is an alpha CC41 release also available.

I have a keyboard shortcut on my computer that brings up CC41 for quick calculations. Thank you for the offer for testing. I will send you the link to the CC41 binary (pre decNumber) and manual via PM.

When you have one, I'd be happy to help test, and thanks again for all the hard work involved!
