HP45 doesnˋt work on batteries

Hi there,
My HP45 does work with the adapter plugged in, but doesnˋt work with batteries.
Battery-pack is o.k., works with other calculators.
What could be broken?

Calculator works again. It was the short clip in the charger slot. It didnˋt make contact from left to right pin.

There's a leaf-type switch that's part of the ac adapter socket on the calculator that may not be working properly. This article might be helpful.
