Thanks for checking Idnarn. We still don't know the story behind the rogue one, so worth a check I think

RE: HP-12C+ (2022 version)
Let us know if the Amazon 12C comes with a case.
(No mention of it on the link page). Thanks! Ren dona nobis pacem 10B, 10BII, 10C, 11C, 12C, 14B, 15C, 16C, 17B, 18C, 19BII, 20b, 22, 29C, 35, 38G, 39G, 39gs, 41CV, 48G, 97 |

It is similar to the one sent with the HP 15C CE edition, except the 15C CE edition's cover is textured and flaccid whereas the 12C's is plain and slightly stiffer. The 12C's cover feels slightly more plastic. There is neither a hard box (if that's what you meant by case) nor a printed manual included such as what are included with the 15C CE. |

RE: HP-12C+ (2022 version)
I just noticed that there is a recent comment (October 30, 2024) on that Amazon.com item listing that has an attached photograph of an old HP 12C with corroded cells. I'm adding this here after noticing the photo in the screenshot so any prospective buyers are warned.
https://imgur.com/a/46iXUo1 There is no mention of whether the buyer purchased it "New" or in "Used" condition (there are calculators available in new and used condition). I assume that any Amazon electronics product sold "New" would be recent, but in case I receive several years old stock sold as "New", I will make use of Amazon's return policy and return such items. Models sold with 3xLR44 cells can be reasonably expected to have depleted or leaking or corroded cells, unless those cells have been replaced (which requires opening the pack and it won't be "New" anymore). |

RE: HP-12C+ (2022 version)
As per previous comments & link, my Amazon $36 12C just arrived.
Bad news is: 1) DOA. Right out of the gate, had to replace the two installed batteries, as they were dead (but thankfully not corroded nor swollen) 2) Calculator does not sit square; wobbles a tiny bit. I'll have to remedy this. 3) No booklet Good news: 1) Has the Connector (see photo) 2) Keys have the same great feel as my 15C CE and feel way better than my Brazil made, 1993 12C 3) Includes a fake leather case with felt on the inside |

I suspect the depleting/depleted cells are why they're priced low as a clearance sale. The screwed battery door appears to be a sufficient feature to identify that it's a current model. |

It would have to be close to 25 years old at a minimum to use those batteries, but since it says it it was made in the USA it's probably well over 30 years old. What kind of store would keep inventory that long? |
