No, the presenters don't sound like they've been breathing helium.

Nice idea... Or would that simply use up my bandwidth twice as quickly? Smile

Just wanted to say thanks and congratulations to the conference organizers for a successful event!

And thank you Eric for cataloging the videos.

  1. Eric Rechlin - What's on the HHC/HPCC 2020 USB Drive
  2. Jake Schwartz - What's New in the PPC Archive
  3. Bob Prosperi - SwissMicros DM41X - A little late, a lot better
  4. Eric Hazen - The Retro-25 DIY Calculators
  5. Michael Park - MP-29 Tactile Touchscreen Calculator
  6. Mark Power - What's New in G2
  7. Sylvain Cote - Diego's HP-41 Modules (Clonix and NoV)
  8. Eddie Shore - Computer Algebra Systems (CAS) and Calculators
  9. Gene Wright and Wlodek Mier-Jedrzejowicz - HP's Worst Calculators
  10. Godwin Stewart - DMConnect
  11. Will Marchant - DM16 in a Satellite Launch Campaign

Enjoyed the virtual conference. Was very convenient to be at home and listen to the many fine presentations. Of course, missed the in-person fellowship with the HHC members.

None this time, but as there were many comments about it, we are considering how to best include that in a future VHC (Virtual HP Conference) without distracting attendees from participating in the presentations to go work on the contest.

For example, if such an event were split across 2 days, perhaps the contest would be issued at the end of day-1 and solutions to be submitted at the start of day-2, with winner announced at the end, so some similar arrangement.

But 2-day conferences aren't likely any time soon, so this needs more thought...

I can't see why a 2-day conference would be a problem. Pre-pandemic HHC conferences were mostly 2-day affairs and there were a fairly large number of participants for this one. There may not have been enough presenters to fill two days but the single day conference was quite long, and I like many others was not able to see everything in real time.

In the event that physical conferences are still not practical for 2021 I can see a combination of HHC, HPCC and Alschwill having plenty of presentations for two lively days. I am hopeful that the pandemic will be under control by next fall but it would be wise to start making contingency plans as soon as possible.

Besides, I really miss the programming contest! Smile

A shorter session (for a 2 day conference) is also more time-zone friendly: not too late for EU and not too early for US. (Unfortunately the Pacific loses out a bit.)

How about running programming contests before the VHC and just announce the results during the VHC?

Micheal Park's MP-29 presentation was featured on Hackaday
