MAXON Motor - teenix - 11-30-2021 02:19 AM

Hi all,

With some card reader motors failing over time, I thought I would contact MAXON directly to see if there are any replacements available.

Here is the reply...

Code:

Hi Tony, thank you for your enquiry.

Unfortunately there are no longer any details at the factory for this motor. It is a very old motor – I checked maxon catalogues here back as far as 1978 and there were no details then.

 A possible replacement is:

 (352853) A-max16 Motor, Graphite Brushes, 2W, 3V, Cables.

This motor will produce a nominal speed of 8060rpm and a nominal torque of 1.29mNm.

For 1X (352853) the price = $109.19.

Please see attached data sheet for details.
If you have any queries please let me know.

(This is the direct link to the motor shown in the data sheet)

I've actually had 2 of these motors apart, to clean the commutator and wire brushes. It's a big job drilling out pins etc, but it did work and the motors now work again.

If you've got a dead motor, give it a try. Nothing to lose.
