Testing the HP-35's chips at Mostek
I just read this great article by Fred Beckhusen, who worked in the top secret(*) testing facility at Mostek, where they were one of two manufacturers of chips for the HP-35 and successors:
http://www.mitsi.com/the-hp-35-bluebird-tester/ They also tested the bulk of the world's supply of Z80s, apparently: http://www.mitsi.com/a-bit-of-z80-history/ via https://plus.google.com/u/0/+FredBeckhus...FCVjmCmbvd and points nearby. (*) Not really. But there was a code name, and HP's name was used only on a need-to-know basis. |

Thank you so much for this!
It's a really interesting article and totally on topic for our main forum so I moved it there for better exposure. -katie |

Good stuff! Great that this history has been preserved! (Writing from the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan )
