Not only is the exponent must be integer, unary minus had precedence above ^ - 3 ^ 2 => 9 - - - - 3 ^ 2 => 9 On some old bc version x=-y and x= -y had different meanings ... weird see page 6 of http://www.unixprogram.com/bc.pdf |
