Good points! I consider the difference to be that when using a non-RPN (or RPL) calculator, you are letting it do the math. When using an RPN or RPL calculator, it may be doing the number bashing but *you* are doing the math.
As an engineer who is constantly cranking various equations off the cuff, the latter fits my mental model much better. Especially when a complex calculation involves many intermediate results. Why, yes, my car does have a manual transmission - why do you ask? |
