I'll add my welcome too, Thomas, glad you decided to join. You'll find lots of similar stories here about caring for and preserving our original HP tools/toys, and clearly lots of technical and usage notes too.

I see from your photos your 41 has the HP touch pad - do you like the feel of the 41 with the touch pad installed?

Like many folks here, I got one back in the 80's but found it totally changes the feel of the keyboard (of course) and that I did not like it all, so I almost immediately removed it and it's been kept since then in it's original poly bag, ready to be deployed if I think I will have to use my 41 with dirty fingers. Safe so far...
