DIY - Reproducing obsolete vintage connectors at home
The subject of unobtanium connectors is common on vintage computers so I hope the information presented in this video is useful. What do you do when you want to plug something into a vintage computer but don’t have the correct cable and the connector used is long since obsolete or proprietary? In this video we’re going to talk about DIY solutions to recreating obsolete electrical connectors at home. We’ll cover the design process of a connector I made for the 12-pin Casio 4-bit bus (Tandy PC-4, etc.) and see how it evolved over time from the initial concept. We’ll also take a look at a few mains connectors that Sven Petersen made for vintage computing devices. https://youtu.be/ZkhR9M4t50I |
