RE: New battery for 82161a and 82162a
Hi,
NiCd are more robust, i have 20 years old fully working sub-c cells. They can often be reactivated when fully discharged. NiMh not. Because of the low inner resistance, the self-discharging is greater. Newer Nicd are not better in my experience. The hp charging circuits are very simple and are not optimized for NiMh. I modified my Hp82161 /162 charing circuit for more current, so the time to charge is simmilar to the old Nicd which have only half the capacity. And Nicd have an environmental problem, so I prefer Nimh. Ralf /41/48/ |
