Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
Searching many missing schematics and images from old Jacques Laporte site (including Francois Roulet copy), my main intention is to recreate his site completely.
Some key pages: http://home.citycable.ch/pierrefleur/Jac...design.htm http://home.citycable.ch/pierrefleur/Jac...Timing.htm ... The archive.org as well do not contain these schematics for any date. Mainly, 2nd level site pages missing all images. Since Jacques Laporte license allowed non-commercial personal copy and his wife allowed republishing his work (see main page of Francois Roulet copy and one of his forum post), I't should be no problem to contact Francois Roulet with missing images. On this forum, some members even posted personal archives link in the past, unfortunately, all links are unavailable now. I hope someone still have full copy of his site or even only pages with missing images. Thanks to all very much in advance for any help in this initiative. |

Ripped his site in 2015. I believe everything is here.

Hi,
it seems that I have at least some of the missing parts. How can I send you a zip-file with what I have? Best regards Karl-Ludwig |

RE: Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
Thank you all very much for respond.
It would be certainly a pity not to recreate fully this remarkable work and effort... Since later archive problems, there is two possible ways. One would be if some one have older archive, with a date a bit older than last revision date page of interest (the most key pages are published in 2007 and 2010). The second if someone have specific problematic pages saved with all required images. Quite a few folders with images missing, which I may list here as well with the page URLs, if that may be more helpful. |

RE: Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
The way back machine seems to have preserved Jacque’s site
http://web.archive.org/web/2014012916432...index.html There may be better ‘capture dates’, so feel free to fiddle with the way back timeline - but the one I’ve given seems to preserve most images and links. Sadly hp42s.com also disappeared many years ago but luckily is also still visible via the way back machine http://web.archive.org/web/2007101700103...hp42s.com/ |

Something I didn't saw, because was missing from the web archive is his (working) HP-67 java emulator.
It would be great to continue his work, too. |

RE: Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
The archive.org allow constructions as follows:
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www..../[Specific folder]/* http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www....0/[Webpage] I have had already extensive attempt to find proper folders and pages, unfortunately without luck. It seems that specific web crawler collect files up to some level (as mentioned in first post) or web uploader used by Jacques deleted the content of many folders with images by some error, which I strongly doubt it would be unnoticed by himself. Authorized copy of Francois Roulet on his site is recreated from http://web.archive.org/web/2014121711413...porte.org/ as noted here: https://wiki.epfl.ch/polymac/simulators And that is the essence of this initiative: only some passionated person collected personal copy or specific pages in specific time can help (AFAIK, there is no better place than this forum). Regarding Jacques' old HP simulators: Java Applet of HP-67 simulator with full sources is here: http://home.citycable.ch/pierrefleur/Jac...coming.htm Francois Roulet have archive it separately here (JavaScript): http://wiki.epfl.ch/polymac/simulators As well here: http://home.citycable.ch/pierrefleur/HP-...assic.html |

RE: Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
I would love to see the gaps filled in. The classic upgrade kit would not have been possible without his work!
I have a printout of the classic hardware discription. I have scanned it a while back. I can send it in when I have access to it. Alternatively Tony (teenix) might be quicker than me. I sent the pdf to him a while ago. Cheers, Harald |

RE: Initiative to fully recreate Jacques Laporte's site
So many useful (and historically important) web sites are being lost as they disappear off the web. I would like to try to protect against this as much as possible.
I have decided to offer to host any old HP calculator web sites that are no longer online. I have started with the two that were already mentioned in this thread. First, hp42s.com. I now have this at the following address. It's almost entirely complete, with just a few images missing. I grabbed what I could from archive.org, and made a few minor corrections to fix some of the broken links: https://archived.hpcalc.org/hp42s/ Next, jacques-laporte.org. Posted above is an archive that contains most of the site, but as all of you know it's incomplete. I can't help with the missing emulators, but today I spent a significant amount of time trying to recreate the forum. I was able to recover over half of the posts. If anyone has any of the ones that I am still missing, please send them to me so I can correct the archive. I also fixed a few other broken links throughout the site, with the result here: https://archived.hpcalc.org/laporte/ If anyone has any more sites they would like to send me to bring back online, it would be greatly appreciated. |

Very generous and thoughtful of you Eric, thanks both for offering to host these vanishing sites and the detective work to recreate them! Well done!
