Doesn't look like they really have already totally dropped that ball.

Presumably. Nevertheless, we've corrected that long time bug with the WP 34S. Many people knew the notation LG for long, some didn't but accepted it. I've explained the reason here far more than once and am getting tired of repeating it. Be assured, a label LOG for the function lg(x) = log₁₀(x) will not return on our calculators. Period.

Are your vintage HPs for sale at a discount? They all feature LOG as a keyboard function. Or are you keeping them for this bug? Makes them more valuable as if they were featuring the correct LG keyboard label.

I do the second So I can tell my grandchildren when they learn about logs that the manufacturer meant LG but printed LOG since he was based in the USA. Remember international math rules and definitions are for all countries - and all countries are equal but one is even more. Life would be less than half as exciting if one wouldn't come across the same again and again. Good grief.

There were quite some complaints posted on this forum about the US website of HP doing all sorts of strange things. Thus I wouldn't count a model vanishing there as sufficient evidence for it being stopped. OTOH, when a model is listed on the official website it's for sale for sure - so it looks like the 30b is alive still.

So we'd need ln, lg, sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, hyp, deg, and rad. The remainder are just capital English abbreviations. Hope I didn't overlook any important function. Our pixel designers are screaming for joy.

If your assumpion was true that would be a good question. So far, however, no official information has reached this forum that production of the HP-30b ceased. Although I once started a thread dedicated to that topic, even no semi-official statement reached us unless I've missed something. Whoever claims the end of the HP-30b, please supply some evidence - HP's website not showing this model is not sufficient for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the update. Perhaps I've missed where the 30B is featured when I visit the HP site. I just went to hp.com/calculators and browsed through the Financial Calculators section and no 30B in sight--10bII+, 17bII 300s+, 35s, 12c, etc. but no 30b. Isn't hp.com/calculators valid? Am I not putting the correct URL for HP in my browser?
