RE: Fields Medal stolen in Rio...
It is not working here either.
I think you mean “where angels fear to tread”. Things like that happen in more civilized countries as well. Do you remember the Jules Rimet trophy? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mirror....586850.amp But it was eventually stolen and molten for good in Rio. The same may happen to the golden medal if it’s not quickly found. |

RE: Fields Medal stolen in Rio...
Gerson, thanks for the correction, tread.
I can't remember thinks like I did. I do remember that it's a quote from a poem of Alexander Pope, and it was used in nice songs from Elvis to Deep Purple . Gerson, Rio is a city dominated by burglas, thieves, drug dealers, mob, etc. It is Gotham City without Batman. Even though the Army are present to resolve the problem, the situation is the same as before. Or worse. |

Well, I'm not so sure... from what I've read about Rio,
"Where angels fear to dare..." seems even more accurate. --Bob Prosperi |

RE: Fields Medal stolen in Rio...
37 years ago was a different story
If you want to visit Rio, don't wear expensive watches, jewels, gold, etc. And principal, don't act like a tourist Now, with that said, I want to host a HHC in Rio, everybody who wants to attend leave names here. I'm planning city tours to very quiet and pleasurable places If you see a bullet crossing the air, be assured it is not new years eve... |

After all, they aren't my most prized possessions... oh, wait... yes they are! You're right Gerson, it's probably better to leave them at home... --Bob Prosperi |

RE: Fields Medal stolen in Rio...
My father once were in a hotel of some backward country.
Someone (with keys?) get inside the room, trying to steal stuff. My father was too smart for them, and carried valuables with him. What did they stole ? used underwear :-D |
