I NEED YOUR HELP: I HAVE LOST MY HP 50G PASSWORD!!!
Hi, I am searching for a old program I stored in a old home backup.
Unfortunately (so Very!!!) I've forgotten that the RESTORE command
execute also a restart. So I have on the 50G a password of 2015, that I
not remember in any way!. My 50G is protected with code49.
In the manual of code49, the author inform that exist a possibility to
use the 50G without known the password, but I am not capable to
understand how I can that.
I hope in your help, because otherwise mi hp 50G become to be a knick-knack!!!
I thank all you so much for your help.

Take the batteries away until the memory is lost? There is a decent possibility that the settings are in the STARTUP variable that should reside in memory IIRC.

You can even reflash the 50g if needed.
For example a procedure with the SD card is here. http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-8152.html and also in the 50g upgrade PDF notes together with the 2.15 firmware. https://www.hpcalc.org/details/7097

Hi, Thank you for you help!
Unfortunately this not work for my 50G.
I tried ON+A+F, then NO
and I pressed into the reset hole.
The problem is that code49 store itself in the flash memory.

Try with [ON] + [F3], then press and keep pressed the [<=] (backspace) key.
Or [ON] + [<=], this ignores the startup variable.

Hi, Thank you for your help.
This not work because code49 controls
all combination ON+F1 to ON+F6 and
also ON+A+F. At the moment I press ON
code49 immediately ask for password.

You can try this. It's for the HP 49G, I don't know if it will work on the HP 50G but if it works and if I understand well how it works, you'll loose the content of the RAM but you should be able to recover a functional calculator.

Did you try to press the reset hole while holding backspace? Since it's not On_C the code won't get a chance to run the hook, and Backspace will prevent the library from running at all. If it still doesn't work:
Put a file update.scp on a SD CARD or use the connectivity kit to flash the recovery flash image from this ROM file. Inside the zip file there's another ZIP file called 2MB FIX.zip. Extract the rom from within that file, that's the special recovery image you need to use. It wipes out all user flash banks, so it will delete everything in Port2, including your security library.
You don't need to delete your RAM at all using this procedure, all your data should remain intact.
