Mobile Mode?
While you can use this forum on mobile devices via a pretty much any browser, it's not easy to navigate. Is there a mobile version that can share the same database?

I found the "Lite" mode, but you can't do anything with it, just view the text/images of posts. Attachments aren't available nor can you reply or do anything else. Code blocks are fully expanded too -- no fun Sad

RE: Mobile Mode?
How important do you think this is? I spent some time studying a plug-in called go mobile and read through a big long thread on it. However, the thread comes to and end in April of this year when people are saying it has lots of problems (layout and missing links - but no more info than that!) with the new version of the forum software (one version back from what we're running) and the author said to please be patient because he had some family issues. Meanwhile his own site has been shut down. I'm not sure if I should just give it try and hope for the best or not. I don't have any way to really test it myself. I have a tablet but it works fine with the standard theme.

RE: Mobile Mode?
Using a tablet is indeed a lot better as there's more screen real estate.

I don't know how important it is to have a mobile version. The old timers on the forum (me included) will mostly read the forum on their old PC's, but younger people will want to be able to do everything on their smartphone. The Lite version might be all they need at least for starters -- it allows them to easily check on what's happening even if they can't easily participate. It's ok for that purpose for me.

Maybe just leave things as-is for now, you can always add the mobile version later if development continues on it and/or you find people on the forum clambering for it.

RE: Mobile Mode?
I've typed up a couple of moderator docs for your viewing pleasure.

I think I will hold off on the mobile for a bit. I posted a message in the mobile plug-in development thread asking whether it's even worth trying it in the current version. (ie is it better than nothing? Just a little imperfect?) but there has been no response yet.

I saw a post that the base forum software was scheduled to get a mobile mode in a future version, so even if the plug-in doesn't get fixed up, we should have something at some point.

Tapatalk mobile app?
I use it for navigating online discussion forums.
It's amazing.
