HP-65 - 1601A03058 - Full restoration
Hi Everyone,
this came in few days ago, we like more the early ones (1333A.....) but even this one came out nicely. From the serial number we believe is one of the last units, in the same year the first HP67s were probably available. Pictures here : HP-65 - 1601A03058 - Full restoration We hope the pictures can be of help for anyone who would like to do the same work We would be happy to hear any suggestion Take care !! Beautiful results alberto, thanks for sharing the nice photos and restoration tips.
I've lost count though, how many restored HP-65s do you have now? --Bob Prosperi |

RE: HP-65 - 1601A03058 - Full restoration
Hello Alberto,
very nice photos! Thanks. Why do you say you prefer a 1601A than the early ones? Do you know any difference between years of production of the HP-65. I (proudly) own a 1604Sxxxxx, but I wasn't aware of such differences. In other classics it's well known the first models with metallic rim and the latest, painted. Or the marks ON - OFF of the switch engraved instead of painted. But I thought the HP-65 was the "definitive" calculator from the beginning till the end of production. And for me, till now too, ;-) Kind regards. Oscar |

RE: HP-65 - 1601A03058 - Full restoration
One day we will post our collection ...
However this is how far the HP65 and HP67 thing has got ... I would say definitely beyond control ... Bottom row are units still to be restored, so you may see some nice pictures in a short future. 6 of the HP65 are complete with travel case (gray plastic) and all of the documentation, including quick reference guide, owner handbook, standard pac, power supply, and leather case We also have an original carton box (to be restored) a number of additional standard pac etc ... 3 of the HP67 are complete with carton box and all of the items that came with them... We also have some software packages for both HP65 and HP67 and some nice accessories like security cradles, external battery chargers, software forms, and a 12V power supply. What should we do now ? noooo
we do it for the fun of it and for the challenge of doing every time a little better than the time before... we would never make a profit out of it we should concentrate on the rest of the collection, which is also nice, and deserve some efforts .... Edoardo & Alberto |

Making a profit is not the point, the point is to be able to share your beautifully restored machines with other people that do not have the skills to repair or restore these great classics. Of course you should charge a reasonable amount as fair compensation for your time and effort, but the real reward is seeing/hearing from the people that buy them from you, and to know the happiness you brought them. --Bob Prosperi |
