"                                                    ABSTRACT
A program to calculate the date of Easter based on mixed-radix, residue arithmetic has been
written for the Hewlett-Packard HP29C programmable pocket calculator. It accepts as input
any year, y, of the Gregorian calendar and displays as output the full date of Easter in the
format m.ddyyyy

The traditional rules for finding the dates of Easter and the associated
moveable feasts are too well known to be repeated here, and in any case
they are of little help in programming a pocket calculator to find Easter for
any year, y, of the Gregorian calendar. The accompanying program, written
specifically for the Hewlett-Packard HP29C and its printing stablemate,
the HP19C, is based on an analysis of various almanacs and
ecclesiastical tabulations. "
