Help Getting Started with EMU48 - Windows
Hello,

I used to have EMU48 working on another computer but that was years ago. Now I want to install on a new computer and am having some issues.

I downloaded and installed emu84. I also downloaded a rom and put it into the directory where emu48 is but it won't run.

Does anyone make a step by step set of instructions for getting emu48 up and running on windows?

I'm mostly interested in emulating the 50g.

Thanks In Advance

You also need a KML file for the 50G emulation. There are some on hpcalc.org.
Your KML script should make reference to the ROM with another file name.
I’ve often see “ROM.50G” in these scripts. You could just try renaming your ROM file.

Install this for the core EMU48:

https://www.hpcalc.org/details/3644

And then install this for the ARM models emulation:

Thanks,

I got something working by renaming a rom file. I'm not sure it's all working correctly but I have the basic 50g functionality which was all I really wanted for now.

RE: Help Getting Started with EMU48 - Windows
EM48 does not know how to interpret old style KML files.
Anything I am missing here?

Follow the below steps to reproduce:

1. Download https://hp.giesselink.com/Emu48/Emu48v164Setup.zip from https://hp.giesselink.com/emu48.htm

2. Download the patch from https://hp.giesselink.com/Emu48/E48BP64.ZIP copy the files to the Emu48 install directory.

3. Get the HP 50g skin from https://www.hpcalc.org/details/6569, copy the files to the Emu48 install directory.

4. Get the EMUROM from https://www.hpcalc.org/details/6744

5. Modify the HP 50g.KML file in the Emu install directory to the ROM.49G file name

6. Start Emu48. It will not show the option for Grokwik's Real 50g

Would it be possible to package Emu48 in a way that it is usable with 50g ROMs out of the box?

Thanks,
A

You need to run this version of emu48 (just copy the exe and dll from the zip file to your emu48 install directory, overwriting the current exe - it doesn't seem to matter whether you installed version 64 or 65)

Now the 50G option will appear in the kml script list if you have copied it to the install directory
