RE: Review: Swiss Micros DM16L
Eddie, on my screen, the text of your review does not stay within the margins I would have expected. Sentences go all the way to the right instead of being justified within the white text area.
Mac OSX 10.14.6 - Firefox and Chrome both show these results. FYI. :-) |

I also have the issue under Chrome on Win10.
While older posts are working fine..... Maybe Eddie needs to hit the "Enter" key in the middle of sentences ? ;-) BTW excellent Blog, i like it very much and from time to time i dig into old posts for entertainment 8-) |

RE: Review: Swiss Micros DM16L
It all looks quite fine for me on my MacBook Pro, using Safari, with the latest Mac OS, Big Sur 11.2.1.

RE: Review: Swiss Micros DM16L
I think the potential of the 16C was limited by its memory (single digit labels, etc.). Although certainly not its main focus, the WP 34S offered the capabilities of a modern 16C, but not the ideal keyboard. So what would be lovely (and it would be great if someone were to just whip this up in their spare time), would be a DM16L with new firmware. To start with, switching the native floating point format to IEEE 754 floats would be great.

What better way to fully live the promise of handheld computing than to create new firmware for a handheld device using a handheld device in circumstances where only a handheld device will do? And if you can do that with your glasses fogged up (because mask) then you've probably achieved the deep respect of your peers. |

And to add the 16C functionality (1, 2 complement, unsigned, shifts, masks) in Free42 would be nice too. For me that would add more than long strings and such. |
